life blurb

i wanted to let the blog world know:

i am going to Coffee Fest this weekend in NY.

i finished my first week of insanity and i feel great.

i bought tickets to texas, and while i am there i am scoping out competition for my coffee shop.

i love my job(s) and am possibly getting a temporary third job.

the Lord is surprising me each day.

i may be broke but i am so happy. money is nothing.

and although where i am living is not ideal and may not be my favorite place, i love the people that surround me every day and i am so lucky to be where i am.

embrace where you are. it’s where you are supposed to be.

(twenty two by twenty two update will come a bit late this week… SORRY!)

A deal and a steal!

Disclaimer: I didn’t literally steal anything… just saying.

Yesterday I purged my closet… when I say purge… I mean PURGE. I took everything off the hangers and piled it all on the floor of our little basement. All I can say is I’m glad my roommate wasn’t here when I started because the amount of clothes that filled up our floor was so embarrassing. I can’t believe how many items of clothing I own(ed). Needless to say I got rid of A LOT of clothes.

I took all of my clothes to Buffalo Exchange in Georgetown and got a good deal for the clothes I sold and donated the rest to charity(BTW, if you take clothes in to B.E. they will buy what they want and if you don’t want to keep the pieces they won’t buy they will donate the clothes for you. I was very excited I didn’t have to take an extra trip to Goodwill or Salvation Army).

Okay I need to get to the point of this blog post.

I was sifting through the racks while waiting on my quote and I found a beautiful pair of brand spankin’ new J Brand jeans for $20. I knew J Brand denim is a nicer brand but just to make sure I quickly Googled them to see how much they sell for… $170-250 is what they sell for and are sold at Bloomingdales. I bought them. I am a happy, happy lady. I’ve been looking for a nice pair of jeans for a while because right now the only pair of jeans I own are the $10 XXI jeans, which are great… But won’t last forever.

Have you gotten a deal so good you just want to share it with the world? Please share in the comments below!

twenty two by twenty two – week 4

It was another busy week in The District and yes, this hindered my dedication to running, BUT I continued to eat very healthy and at least get in 20 minutes of high-intense cardio in on the days I can’t go running. I weighed in today at 168, which is the same as last week. Although there is no change I’m not discouraged. Better to maintain than gain, right? But this does worry me for the upcoming weeks so I am adding to my workout routine.

Insanity is the next step. I’ve decided to start the 60 day Insanity program. Now some people are skeptical but I have talked to a couple of friends who have done it and swear by it. I will continue to go running in addition to Insanity… It is impossible to ask me to give up my de-stress runs.

I’m excited to share experiences and results with all of you!

Please share healthy recipes or blogs that are helpful to you!

twenty two by twenty two- week 3

So yesterday was weigh-in day but I didn’t have time to post. Life is getting busy here in the big DC! I was sick with the flu this past weekend but I am recovered and better than ever. Yesterdays weigh-in was successful, I didn’t share my weight last week because secretly, I gained half a pound. This week my eight was 168 so I’m down over a pound which doesn’t seem like a lot but because I’m not making drastic changes, just changing a couple habits and lifestyle choices it is great because I weight the weight to get off and STAY OFF! Slow and steady wins the race!

Yoga, running and strength training is how I’m doing it! I haven’t added anything crazy yet. I thought about starting Insanity, but I’m a bit frightened… Any thoughts on Insanity/P90X or workouts programs like those?
