life blurb

i wanted to let the blog world know:

i am going to Coffee Fest this weekend in NY.

i finished my first week of insanity and i feel great.

i bought tickets to texas, and while i am there i am scoping out competition for my coffee shop.

i love my job(s) and am possibly getting a temporary third job.

the Lord is surprising me each day.

i may be broke but i am so happy. money is nothing.

and although where i am living is not ideal and may not be my favorite place, i love the people that surround me every day and i am so lucky to be where i am.

embrace where you are. it’s where you are supposed to be.

(twenty two by twenty two update will come a bit late this week… SORRY!)

A deal and a steal!

Disclaimer: I didn’t literally steal anything… just saying.

Yesterday I purged my closet… when I say purge… I mean PURGE. I took everything off the hangers and piled it all on the floor of our little basement. All I can say is I’m glad my roommate wasn’t here when I started because the amount of clothes that filled up our floor was so embarrassing. I can’t believe how many items of clothing I own(ed). Needless to say I got rid of A LOT of clothes.

I took all of my clothes to Buffalo Exchange in Georgetown and got a good deal for the clothes I sold and donated the rest to charity(BTW, if you take clothes in to B.E. they will buy what they want and if you don’t want to keep the pieces they won’t buy they will donate the clothes for you. I was very excited I didn’t have to take an extra trip to Goodwill or Salvation Army).

Okay I need to get to the point of this blog post.

I was sifting through the racks while waiting on my quote and I found a beautiful pair of brand spankin’ new J Brand jeans for $20. I knew J Brand denim is a nicer brand but just to make sure I quickly Googled them to see how much they sell for… $170-250 is what they sell for and are sold at Bloomingdales. I bought them. I am a happy, happy lady. I’ve been looking for a nice pair of jeans for a while because right now the only pair of jeans I own are the $10 XXI jeans, which are great… But won’t last forever.

Have you gotten a deal so good you just want to share it with the world? Please share in the comments below!

another day in the neighborhood

I hope everyone had a great Sunday! Mine was wonderful, thanks for asking. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm(er) day with a high of 54 in the city. Because it was so beautiful the Eastern Market was boomin’. I ended up strolling through 4 times on my way to and from church then on my way to and my friend’s house.

Each time I walk around Capital Hill I am amazed that this is my neighborhood, that I can see the capital from my house, I can walk to work, I can buy my produce at the local market each weekend and meet new people around every corner. To be honest I could go on for a while about how much I love living here… I will refrain and move on to the pictures.hill hill1 hill2 hill4 hill5 ^^3 for $12!!!!!!!^^hill6 hill7 hill8
